The Qatar Scientific Club is to launch the Virtual Innovation Lab programme for school students during the second semester mid-term holiday for public schools, which runs from March 14 to 18.
The programme aims to invest students' leisure time and to make them practise a valuable educational experience through workshops and projects that depend on the STEM principle in robotics, artificial intelligence, software, 3D engineering design and scientific experiments.
On the nature of the activity, the Director of the Promising Innovator Center who is responsible for the Virtual Innovation Lab programme, Fatima al-Mohannadi, explained that the programme will be through distance education.
Al-Mohannadi added that the age groups have been distributed so that each group has two training periods on two different days.
She explained that the programme is being held in co-operation with a number of partners who have shown interest and desire to extend the activities of Qatar Scientific Club to include those of their affiliates, and these bodies are Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Tarsheed Department of the Qatar General Electricity & Water Corp, and a number of Ministry of Culture and Sports centres.
