The Cabinet on Wednesday affirmed the continued implementation of the precautionary measures in order to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, Qatar News Agency reported.

This came after the Cabinet listened to an explanation provided by HE the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments regarding the steps taken to limit the spread of Covid-19.

After HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi issued a statement giving the details of the proceedings. The Cabinet reviewed the following issues and took appropriate decisions in their regard:

1- The ninth report on the results of the work of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee during the period from 1/7 to 31/12/2020.

This committee established at Qatar Civil Aviation Authority is concerned with several specialisations, including: developing general policies related to civil aviation security, co-ordinating between ministries and government agencies and other agencies concerned with implementing the National Civil Aviation Security Programme, and evaluating applicable standards and procedures, in line with technological developments related to civil aviation security and other associated technologies, and to verify that all security considerations are taken into account when constructing new airports or developing existing ones.

2- The annual report of the Permanent Population Committee for 2020.

This committee is doing, in co-ordination with the competent authorities, the study of demographics, its characteristics and trends, proposing the state's population policy and following up on its implementation after its approval, preparing studies and research related to the population, aiming to know the social reality in the country, developing population policies and programmes, and establishing a database, as well as presenting information on population demographic variables, preparing appropriate economic demographic models for the country, and following up procedures for integrating population issues into comprehensive development plans, especially in the social, health, environmental, educational, media and cultural fields.

3-The results of the extraordinary meeting of the Trade Co-operation Committee to follow up on the implementation of the decisions of the GCC Supreme Council in its 41st session, the Al-Ula Summit.
