Qatar Charity has launched the third phase of Qatar Relief Convoys in Lebanon to deliver relief aid and winter supplies to Syrian refugees camps in Arsal in order to meet urgent needs and alleviate their suffering, given the difficult humanitarian situation they face.

The first batch of the third phase includes the aid distributed in co-operation with the Islamic Medical Association in Arsal, and covers the needs of more than 2,700 families, an average of 13,500 beneficiary refugees.

The aid was delivered by nine trucks loaded with 2,700 relief items, including basic food items and health bags.

This aid aims to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of the Syrian refugees camps in Arsal and to alleviate their suffering which increases in light of the continuing cold winter, low temperatures, rain, snow and the associated dangers, as well as the worsening humanitarian conditions in the dilapidated camps that lack the most basic equipment.

The elderly are threatened by the absence of heating sources and the lack of basic needs of food, drink and clothing inside the camps.

Qatar Relief Convoys organised by Qatar Charity set off from the Turkish-Syrian border to deliver food, shelter, and health aid, as well as winter supplies to Syrian refugees in three countries.

The drive, which includes 200 convoys, targets Syrian refugees in Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon.
