The Build Your House Exhibition 2021 (BYH 2021) has been rescheduled to June 7-9, the organisers have said.
The announcement comes in line with the recent decision of the Council of Ministers to reimpose some restrictions and precautionary measures to preserve the health and safety of citizens and residents, NeXTfairs for Exhibitions & Conferences said in a statement yesterday.
The event is scheduled to take place at Qatar National Convention Centre.
Rawad Sleem, general manager of NeXTFairs for Exhibitions & Conferences, said: “Changing the date of the exhibition is a precautionary measure to deal with the latest developments of the worldwide Covid-19 situation, in addition to supporting the efforts aimed at protecting the society. Despite the strict preventive measures taken by NeXTFairs in co-operation with Boecker to ensure the health and safety of visitors and exhibitors, we still have to adapt to the rapidly changing world we live in.”
Sleem noted that the preventive measures to be applied at BYH 2021 include regular and consistent disinfection of the halls, exhibition stands and all exhibits before bringing them into the exhibition halls in addition to the general supervision of other preventive measures and disinfection of the exhibition venue by a specialised team daily.
Also, there will be thorough disinfection of areas that entail meeting and communicating with visitors, especially reception halls and other familiar places, while maintaining a safe distance of at least 2m between individuals and conducting temperature checks on all employees, exhibitors, and visitors daily during the event.
In co-operation with Qatar Red Crescent Society and QNCC, there will be an isolation area for those who show any of the Covid-19 symptoms and the competent authorities will be immediately contacted.
He continued, "the exhibition will be closed from 2pm-3pm daily for disinfection, visitors under the age of 18 will not be allowed in, and food and drinks inside the halls will be prevented. We will also provide visitors and exhibitors with a comprehensive guide to public safety measures, use social distancing wall and floor signs, always remind them that face masks should be worn all the time, and check the 'Green' colour on the Ehteraz app."
He stressed that NeXTfairs would exert its "utmost efforts to present an exceptional version" of the BYH exhibition this year to satisfy the aspirations of exhibitors and visitors.
He said changing the date of the exhibition would provide the participating companies with even more time to study the market segmentation variables and adapt to the impact of the pandemic, whether in terms of products, services or even marketing plans.
Sleem indicated that BYH 2021 will be a unique event as it has attracted about 200 local and international companies, which will compete under one roof to provide various products and advanced technologies in the fields of construction, architectural design, decoration and contracting, in addition to the technologies of smart and green buildings.
