Doha Toastmasters Club (DTC), the first Toastmasters Club in Qatar, recently organised its annual club speech contests for 2021.

International and Table Topic Speech contests were on January 16 and Humorous & Evaluation Speech contests on February 06.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions this year all contests were online.

Officials from District-116 including Rajeshwar Sundaresan, Manzoor Moideen, Subair Pandavath, Anil Nair and Faisal al-Hudawi attended.

Namrata Tawde, Akash Bhutada, Sunil Kumar Menon, Niloufer Samal, Nagaraja Sekar and Jayantha Poojary participated in the International Speech contest.

Jayaraj Chembra, Namrata Tawde, Sunil Kumar Menon, Akash Bhutada, Niloufer Samal, Ian Dmello, Pravin Chandra, Smitha Abraham, Priya Bhedi, Jayantha Poojary, Yasser al-Deisi, Nagaraja Sekar and Kesavraj Sampathkumar participated in the table topic speech contest.

Amarnath Baburajan, Milton Swaminathan, Namrata Poojary, Zaher Saleh, Jayaraj Chembra, Sunil Kumar and Nagaraj Sekar participated in the humorous speech contest.

Akash Bhutada, Nagaraj Sekar, Namrata Tawde, Niloufer Samal, Jayantha Poojary and Sunil Kumar Menon participated in the evaluation speech contest.

In the international speech contest, Sunil Kumar Menon, Niloufer Samal and Akash Bhutada won the first, second and third places, respectively.

In the table topic speech contest, Sunil Kumar Menon, Smitha Abraham and Akash Bhutada secured first, second and third prizes, respectively.

In the humorous speech contest, Sunil Kumar Menon, Amarnath Baburajan and Namrata Tawde bagged first, second and third prizes, respectively.

In the evaluation speech contest Niloufer Samal, Sunil Kumar Menon and Akash Bhutada won first, second and third prizes, respectively.

Club vice president Atul Hardas was the contest manager.

Main hosts were Madhavi Nandigam and Yoosaf Vannarath.

Senior toastmasters Rajeshwar Sundaresan and Jayakumar Menon were the chief judges on January 16 and February 6, respectively.

In the international, table topic, humorous and evaluation speech contests Yoosaf Vannarath, Vaishali Mehra, Girish Jain and Rangamani Ravi were the chairs.

Shwetha Boddeti and Priya Bhedi were the master of ceremonies on both days, respectively.

Top two winners from each category will now move on to the Area 01 Contest to be held on February 26.
