At least 37 people were injured after an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit Yasuj and Sisakht cities in the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province in southwestern Iran on Wednesday.

President of the University of Medical Sciences in Yasuj Dr Parviz Yazdanpanah stated that fortunately the earthquake did not lead to any casualties, but it injured 32 people, and that their general health conditions are good.

Other reports also stated that five other people were injured in Semirom city in Isfahan Governorate, close to the earthquake zone.
