The designated authorities referred 386 people to the Public Prosecution for violating the precautionary and preventive measures enforced by the country to curb the spread of Covid-19, Qatar News Agency reported on Thursday.
Of them, 337 people were referred to the Public Prosecution for not wearing masks in places where they are mandatory, while 44 were found violating the rule limiting the number of people allowed in a vehicle. According to the rule, a maximum of four persons – including the driver – are allowed in a vehicle except when the occupants are members of the same family.
Also, two persons were referred to the Public Prosecution for not maintaining a safe physical distance, and three others for not installing the Ehteraz app on their mobile phones, the report said.
The measure is in line with a Cabinet decision and Decree Law No 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, and the precautionary and preventive measures in force in the country to contain the spread of the coronavirus, the Ministry of Interior said on Twitter.
The authorities have called on the public to adhere to the Covid-19 precautionary and preventive measures for their safety and that of others.
