HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah visited the Leonardo factory in the city of Venegono, where he was welcomed by the company CEO Alessandro Profumo.

This visit comes within the framework of exploring the facilities of the international aviation school to determine its readiness to receive the first batch of Qatari pilots from the Al-Zaeem Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Attiyah Air College to continue their advanced training, which is scheduled to take place in April.

As part of the visit, HE the minister took a flight to get acquainted with the training programme designed for Qatari pilots on the M-346 advanced training aircraft.

HE al-Attiyah was accompanied during the visit by Qatar's Ambassador to Italy Abdulaziz bin Ahmed al-Malki, Commander of the Amiri Air Force Staff Major General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad al- Nabit, Qatari Military Attache to Italy Brigadier General Hilal Ali al-Mohannadi, and several senior officers of the armed forces.
