*One-day event supported by Domasco

Domasco, the distributor of Volvo Cars in Qatar celebrated National Sport Day with Education City Golf Club by hosting Volvo car owners and golf club members to a fun and unique day of golf experience. Golf is already a key social distancing sport has been extremely popular allowing people to exercise and enjoy sport in the outdoors.

First up was the official tournament, it saw the ECGC members compete to be crowned the champion of the Volvo National Sports Day Stableford. The individual stableford format double teed at 6.20 am and continued till late afternoon. Winners were crowned in the amateur categories with 3 positions in each. The day concluded with fun games and activities for all the participants. The overall winner of A division was a young junior golf Daniil Sokolov with an impressive 39 points playing off a 12 handicap.

In B Division the winner was Abdul Rashid Mordiffi 40pts just edging out Ronan Kelly in second place on a count back with 40 points.

In addition to the tournament there was a golf lesson for Volvo car owners. Most of the car owners had no prior experience playing golf, so they were given a one-hour lesson on the basics of golf and they learnt how to putt. They later had the opportunity to put their newly acquired golfing skills to the test with some golf based fun activities.
