His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Qatar University (QU), presided over the third meeting of the Board of Trustees for the academic year 2020-21, which was held via video conference on Monday morning.

The Board reviewed what has been implemented of its decisions and recommendations taken during the second meeting of the academic year.

The Board also discussed the topics listed on its agenda and took the appropriate decisions, including the approval of restructuring and activating a number of programs at the bachelor's level, the restructuring of the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy program, the restructuring of the Bachelor programs at the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies and the reactivation of the two Bachelor of Arts programs in Geography.

As for the doctoral level, it approved the restructuring of the doctoral program in health sciences and reactivating and restructuring the pharmacy program at the College of Pharmacy.

The Board approved new programs, namely the creation of a minor in Actuarial Mathematics at the College of Arts and Sciences and the creation of a Master's Program in Gas and Operations Engineering at the College of Engineering.

The Board also approved the health cluster strategy at Qatar University.
