The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on Sunday announced that it has been decided to provide the comprehensive establishment and renewal services only via the Single Window platform from February 28.
Accordingly, individuals following up on these services will no longer be received at the MoCI headquarters and its branches, Qatar News Agency (QNA) said in a report.
The ministry said this step is in line with the precautionary measures taken to limit the spread of Covid-19 and forms part of its efforts to facilitate and shorten procedures for establishing companies and renewing commercial records and licences, according to QNA.
The comprehensive establishment service includes reservation of the trade name upon incorporation, issuance of the commercial registration and licence, as well as issuance of regulatory and subsidiary licences of all kinds.
The comprehensive renewal service includes all commercial registrations and licences without being restricted to the condition that they expire within 60 days. It covers commercial registration, commercial licence and the renewal of regulatory and subsidiary licences of all kinds, the MoCI explained through an infographic on social media.
The advantages of using the Single Window include the following: renewal from one to five years, and renewal is possible without being restricted to the condition that commercial records and licences should expire within 60 days; obtaining the required governmental or external approvals electronically; and electronic signature for establishment contracts.
The Single Window service is available at sw.gov.qa
