For the first time in Qatar, elections were conducted for Indian expatriate community apex bodies through a mobile application – DIGIPOLL – developed by the embassy of India. This was done to avoid mass gathering for the manual voting process in the current Covid-19 situation.
The election process was flawless and a huge success with more than 95% participation. There was all-round acknowledgement and appreciation for the job done by the embassy in conducting the elections fairly and the results were declared in less than 30 minutes, after closing time.
