Qatar Charity (QC) distributed 100 personal hygiene kits to orphans in the Rawalpindi district, Pakistan, aiming to raise awareness about Covid-19 at schools.
The hygiene kits, which were distributed in an event attended by the local officials in Pakistan, come within the efforts made by QC to limit the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic across the globe.

Contents of personal hygiene kits distributed by QC to school students in Rawalpindi, Pakistan
Each kit had masks, sanitisers, and other hygiene items needed for daily usage. During the distribution event, QC’s staff made the children and their mothers aware of the importance of personal hygiene, hand washing methods, and social distancing.
Also, information, education and communication materials were distributed to raise awareness about the importance of handwashing and maintaining social distance to prevent Covid-19 infection.
Raja Imran, deputy district officer at the Government Social Welfare Department highly appreciated the efforts of QC in the Rawalpindi district. “The personal hygiene items distributed by Qatar Charity are very comprehensive and covering maximum needed items,” said Imran, applauding the role of Qatar Charity in orphan care.
Besides, QC attended a coordination meeting organised by the Pakistan Humanitarian Forum (PHF) in cooperation with Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Baluchistan. At the meeting focusing on the INGOs working in the provinces, Qatar Charity presented its interventions, which received praise from the deputy director of PDMA Ghafoor Agha.
He also requested INGOs, including Qatar Charity, to work in co-ordination with each other and with the Government for a huge impact. QC is an active member of PHF at the federal level as well as at the provincial level.
In Pakistan, QC had previously, in coordination with the provincial governments, distributed 4,000 food baskets, benefitting nearly 24,000 people in Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Baluchistan.
