Qatar Museums (QM) and Mawater have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on car related exhibitions, including an annual update of the Mawater Gallery — previously named the Vintage Car Gallery at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ).
The agreement outlines the incorporation of relevant cars for various temporary exhibitions, including the Mal Lawal 3 Cars exhibition, of which Mawater is the lead car curator.
Mal Lawal (“of the past”) is an exhibition that, since 2012, has showcased an incredible range of local and regional collectors.
The third edition focuses on the stories of 26 Qatari general collectors and showcases the private collections of esteemed Qatari car collectors, Salem Saeed al-Mohannadi and Omar Hussain Alfardan.
The QM and Mawater also collaborated on last year’s car edition of Mal Lawal.
The exhibition featured 12 cars used in Qatar in the 1970s and 1980s.
Mal Lawal 3 Cars exhibition runs until August 1 at Museum Baraha – Mawater Gallery, NMoQ.
