Ooredoo has announced that registration fees for the upcoming Ooredoo Doha Virtual Marathon 2021 will be waived in celebration of National Sport Day 2021.
The Ooredoo Doha Virtual Marathon 2021 will be held from February 19-26, 2021. Runners can participate in their own time by either running outside or running on a treadmill to ensure safety in the ongoing pandemic situation.
To join the event, runners need simply register and download the Suffix.Tracker App. They can then either use the App to track their run, or sync their smart device to the app. Run times will automatically be uploaded to the leaderboard, and there will be a host of smart devices on offer as prizes.
The event will feature a number of categories for all ages and abilities: a 1km run for children, a 5km and 10km race for men and women, a 21km half-marathon for men and women, and the full 42km marathon for men and women. There will be no registration fees for any of the categories.
Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari, director, PR at Ooredoo, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the Ooredoo Doha Virtual Marathon 2021, and to be offering free registration to make the event accessible to as many runners as possible. We’re all disappointed the physical event can’t go ahead this year, but we hope to see a packed leaderboard with runners making the most of the virtual event.
“Supporting activities that promote a healthy, active lifestyle is a huge priority for us at Ooredoo, especially in such challenging times where we’re all restricted in what we can do, and we consider this an excellent opportunity to get active in honour of National Sport Day. Good luck to all the runners participating.”
