Al-Jufairi explained that the Public Works Authority, Ashghal, had informed her that the Nuaija Intersection will be opened in April, and Al Ali Intersection in July.
Ashghal started developing the LuLu intersection where traffic signals are improved by allowing free flow of traffic from the Airport Road intersection towards Fereej Al Ali Intersection along the D-Ring Road.
Ashghal is also working to improve Nuaija junction, popularly known as the Mall Intersection, where work will include improving increasing the number of lanes on D-Ring Road to four in each direction.
According to the CMC member, the area will also witness completion of several development works including infrastructure, water and electricity network, rainwater drainage, parks and afforestation in the coming months.
“Ashghal has responded to the demands of the residents and completed the construction of a pedestrian crossing bridge that links the Old Airport area with Al Thumama,” she added. “A pedestrian bridge that connects Nuaija 44 with Nuaija 43 has also been approved.”
