Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh , take part in the annual procession of members of the Order of the Garter at Windsor Castle in Berkshire yesterday. The Queen was joined by members of the royal family for the annual Order of the Garter service. The Order of the Garter is the pinnacle of the UK honours system with appointments of Knights of the Garter a prerogative of the Queen, and a gift that is made without consulting ministers. Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and Prince William are both knights of the order.
