Puttalam Zahirians Football Club executive committee representatives recently welcomed Mohamed Mafaz Mohideen, ambassador of Sri Lanka to Qatar, at the embassy premises.
S M Isham Marikar, Puttalam Zahirians president, along with other office-bearers met the ambassador and briefed him about the activities being conducted by Zahirians in Qatar, particularly the football camps, volunteer programmes and social events for the benefit of Sri Lankan expatriates as well as the society of Qatar in general.
Ambassador Mafaz expressed his pleasure over the meeting with the visitors and congratulated the Puttalam Zahirians members for engaging people in community activities. He spoke specifically about football and its importance for the Sri Lankans. The ambassador encouraged Puttalam Zahirians to keep their humanitarian work going.
