Team Punarjani recently were awarded for their community services, especially for repatriation of chronic patients to various parts of India for further treatment from long-term care units in Qatar. As many as 25 patients have joined their families back in India.
They never expected to have the reunion particularly during the current health crisis situation. Punarjani made necessary arrangements for the patients to travel from Qatar to their native places. This included medical equipment along with required doctors, nurses and other personnel. Govind, member of Punarjani, was honoured with Hamad Medical Corporation's award for Social Services. He along with Viswanathan, an office-bearer of Punarjani, were honoured for the services and co-ordination undertaken to accomplish the process. The award was handed over by Dr Hanadi al-Hamad, director of Long Time Care Unit and chairperson of Geriatric Medicine of HMC. Punarjani president Rajeev Menon and secretary Rajesh Mangode were awarded for their contributions towards facilitating different activities of their team.
