Qatar, represented by the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior (MoI), participated in the opening of the 18th Arab Conference of Heads of Traffic Services. The two-day virtual event is organised by the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers.
The Qatar delegation is headed by Brig Mohamed Abdullah al-Shahwani, Director General of Traffic, with the participation of Col Mohamed Radi al-Hajri, director of the Awareness and Information Department; Col Jassim Nasser al-Hamidi, assistant director of the Patrols and Traffic Investigation Department for Investigation Affairs; and Lt Col Rashid Salem al-Qamra, assistant director of the Department of Licensing Affairs.
The conference discusses a number of topics including the Arab plan to reduce motorcycle accidents, professional training for traffic officers and celebrations of the Arab Traffic Week. These are in addition to reviewing the experiences of member states in the field of using social networks to raise awareness of traffic safety.
