The Joint Special Forces, in collaboration with the Lekhwiya Force, celebrated yesterday the graduation ceremony of the Riot Control Course, under the auspices and in the presence of HE Chief of Staff of Qatari Armed Forces Lieutenant General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanim and in the presence of HE the Commander of the Joint Special Forces, Major General Hamad bin Abdullah al-Fetais al-Marri.
The course is part of the department’s plan to prepare groups of Joint Special Forces members to act as a support force for Lekhwiya during the FIFA World Cup 2022.
The course lasted for four weeks and covered several topics, including riots and the law, riot-control formations, riot weapons, securing stadiums and important facilities, and crowd management among other topics.
During the ceremony, the participants showcased the skills they acquired during the course.
At the end of the ceremony, Chief of Staff of Qatari Armed Forces Lieutenant General (Pilot) thanked the participants, trainers while urging them to put more efforts in order to strengthen co-operation between different security bodies in the country, while wishing them success.
