The Cabinet on Wednesday expressed satisfaction that Qatar was ranked, for the third consecutive year, as the world's safest country for 2021 according to Numbeo's list which included 135 countries, Qatar News Agency reported.

The Cabinet said that remaining top for three consecutive year was a great achievement, citing the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the success of the Interior Ministry's comprehensive security plan. They also praised the ministry's members and employees, the use of technology to combat crime, and the commitment of citizens and residents to security.

After HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa bin Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi issued a statement giving the details of the proceedings.

The Cabinet looked into the following topics during the meeting:

First - approving a draft decree amending the unified customs tariff attached to decree No. 45 of 2019.

Second - approving a draft cabinet decision on re-regulating a number of administrative units that form the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and reassign their specialisations.

Third - approving a draft decision by the Minister of Transport and Communications on establishing an administrative unit for the Qatar Aeronautical Academy and assign its specialisation.

Fourth - reviewed the 48th report of the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons from Sept 1 to Dec 31, 2020, and took the appropriate measures regarding it. (QNA)
