The Executive Committee of the Global Organisation of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (Gopac) held a meeting yesterday chaired by HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud, Speaker of the Shura Council and President of the Gopac. The meeting was held via video conference technology.
Speaking at the outset of the meeting, HE al-Mahmoud stressed the Gopac’s keenness on carrying out its activities and following up its programmes despite the coronavirus pandemic, adding that he will work during his presidency to achieve its lofty goals as an international organisation that has a fundamental role in fighting corruption at the global level. 
He announced that the office of the World Organisation of Parliamentarians Against Corruption in Doha is ready.
The Gopac’s General Secretariat will soon move to the office after its inauguration. 
During the meeting, the committee discussed the Gopac’s strategy for the years 2021-2022, its work programmes and joint activities with the United Nations and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
