HE Chairman of Qatar's Gaza Reconstruction Committee Ambassador Mohamed al-Emadi said that the committee, in co-ordination with Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), will start disbursing cash assistance to needy families in the Gaza Strip on Thursday. HE al-Emadi said that 100,000 families will receive $100 each.
He said that the distribution will take place through the branches of the Postal Bank in the sector, in view of the preventive measures taken to confront the coronavirus outbreak, in order to preserve the safety of the beneficiaries and ensure their commitment to preventive measures, sterilisation, and social distancing.
He stressed that the distribution will be carried out under the full supervision of the Qatar committee's staff and in co-operation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Ministry of Social Development in Gaza, in a manner that ensure the highest standards of safety and security for the beneficiaries and workers in the distribution centres in light of the coronavirus outbreak in the Gaza Strip.
