The Community Police Department of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) is active in resolving various cases and disputes amicably, an official noted yesterday while addressing a virtual awareness seminar.
The seminar on ‘Services of Community Policing and Human Rights Departments’ was organised by the MoI’s Public Relations Department.
Abdul Azeez al-Muhannadi, Community Policing Officer, said amicable solution is the method of the department’s policing. 
The official explained various mechanisms of the department along with services, being extended to community members across Qatar. He added that the department looks to settle the disputes without intervention from other bodies. According to figures, the department solved a total of 237 cases from 2016 to 2019 (until May) through it’s office for communities. 
He urged the community members to get in touch with the department through its hotline 33292379. The hotline received 513 calls in 2016 while the number of calls stood at 749 in 2017 and 454 in 2018.
