*Agreements signed with QOC in the framework of national companies' commitment to be partners in the development of sports in the country
Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) signed Sunday two agreements with Aamal QPSC and Ibn Ajayan Projects, under which the two companies join the Team Qatar Supporters Program.
HE QOC President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, HE Aamal's Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassem al-Thani and Chairman of Ibn Ajayan Projects Mohamed bin Mahdi Ajayan al-Ahbabi attended the signing ceremony.
The support of Aamal and Ibn Ajayan Projects contributes to providing the optimal environment for preparing and equipping elite athletes for major tournaments and setting up the training camps required for them. Aamal signed a three-year agreement with QOC. Ibn Ajayan Projects signed a four-year agreement with QOC.
HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani thanked Aamal and Ibn Ajayan Projects, appreciating their valuable contribution in supporting elite athletes, which will be positively reflected on their participation in the upcoming events, foremost among which is the upcoming 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
HE the QOC president affirmed that the role of the private sector in supporting Qatari sports is important and essential, as it is increasing steadily, praising Aamal and Ibn Ajayan Projects for their active involvement in supporting elite athletes, which will be clearly demonstrated through the participation of these Qatari athletes in the upcoming tournaments, including 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
He added that national companies, and within the framework of their commitment to their social responsibility, are considered one of the main partners in the development of the sports movement in the country and that they play a role that deserves thanks in this regard, stressing the importance of continuing to expand and develop this national role, which is positive for the country and its global sporting position.
HE Sheikh Joaan indicated that all the QOC capabilities are, and will remain fully devoted to the Qatari sports teams and Qatari athletes in all individual and team games and tournaments to achieve new accomplishment at all levels.
On this occasion, HE Sheikh Faisal commented: "I am pleased to witness the cooperation with the Olympic Committee and support the Al Adaam team, which we hope will see excellence and success in the coming period. In Aamal, we appreciate the great efforts made by the Qatar Olympic Committee to sponsor sports and community activities and to promote the massive practice of these sports in the Qatari society.
