Mall of Qatar has said it is re-welcoming youth and adults to its recreation facilities, offering families a "comfortable place to spend joyous times in a safe environment".
"With the re-opening of entertainment facilities, Mall of Qatar continues its mission of offering destinations that harmonise shopping and entertainment in a safe, family-friendly environment," the mall has said in a statement.
Following the instructions of the Ministry of Public Health and maintaining the "highest standards of safety measures", all entertainment facilities at the mall were rigorously sanitised, including all the equipment and common surfaces, and hand-sanitising devices were installed around the property.
All visitors should wear masks and gloves in the entertainment venues, with sanitisation conducted after each use. Further, instruction signs and digital screens advise visitors on how to spend time safely and encourage them to maintain social distancing while playing.
Visitors getting into the recreation venues should pass through the sanitisation gate, after which all kids are handed small sanitisers for regular use. Some facilities use UV sanitisation at nights, with dedicated staff standing by round the clock to clean the machines and tools after each use.
In addition, facility staff is present to organise visitor entry at the venue, preventing crowds and ensuring a limited number of people at 30% to 50% capacity, the statement notes.
Emile Sarkis, general manager of Mall of Qatar, said: “Mall of Qatar is the favourite destination for adults and kids alike. With the re-opening of the entertainment facilities, all family members can now enjoy a wide variety of options in our recreation facilities with the
highest sanitisation and safety measures. In this regard, we thank all ministries and entities working hard to bring our life to be normal again and care about our health.
"We will put in all our effort to secure the best experience for shoppers and visitors who are keen to spend good times at their favourite destination.”
