Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ), an associate organisation of Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) under the aegis of Embassy of India, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) recently organised its first blood donation campaign of the year at HMC’s Blood Donation Centre.
A large number of donors attended the camp.
Having received a huge response, AMUAAQ has decided to organise donation camps twice every year. In a drive to motivate its members, AMUAAQ conducted a special discussion in which Dr Nadeem Jilani, chief adviser AMUAAQ, addressed the gathering and emphasised on the need of donating blood as it can save the lives of people. He appreciated co-ordinators – Farrukh Ali Farooqi, Rizwan Ahmad, and Imtiyaz Ahmad – along with managing committee members – Mamnoon Ahmad Bangash, Mohamed Farman Khan (GS), Mohamed Faisal Naseem (VP), Dr Ashna Nusrat, Arshad Perwez, Jawed Ahmad (president), and associated organisations.
The special discussion on blood donation was graced by ICBF representatives – Vinod V Nair, Kuldeep Kaur Bahl, Rajni Murthy, Dinesh Gowda – and ICBF president Ziad Usman as well as ICC representatives – Subramanaya, Kamla Thakur, and Avinash Gaikwad.
Other organisations like Telangana Welfare Association (TWA), Punjabi Singh Seva Dal (PSSD), North Indian Association (NIA) representatives and their members also attended the campaign. The representatives of TWA included Khaja Nizamuddin (president), Gulam Rasool (VP) and PSSD’s Sanjeev Sharma and Poonam Sharma. Monika Modi was from NIA. They also appreciated AMUAAQ for organising the noble campaign.
As a token of appreciation, each blood donor was presented with a certificate and a sanitiser from AMUAAQ. At the end, the AMUAAQ committee thanked Arif, Abdul Qadar, Arshad and HMC Blood Donation Centre staff for their extraordinary support for the successful blood donation campaign.
AMUAAQ was awarded with an appreciation certificate by HMC for being a part of the noble cause. Refreshments were provided to the donors by the Blood Donation Centre.
