The Shura Council participated Wednesday in an international parliamentary seminar on the role of parliamentarians in ensuring peace in the cyberspace and avoiding cyberwars.
The seminar was organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Geneva Center for Security Policy, Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament, and World Future Council.
Discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities facing parliaments in alleviating cybersecurity risks on a governmental, social, and military levels. Discussions also focused on the prospect of exchanging expertise between parliamentarians in the field of ensuring the safety of cyberspace.
The Shura Council was represented in the meeting by member of the council Dahlan bin Jamaan al-Hamad.
