As part of the preparations of the Safety and Security Operations Committee (SSOC) for the 2022 FIFA World Cup to secure the mega event, the Training and Development Unit is conducting a training course on the security and safety of sports fans.



The training course in progress

The training course is being held until today at the Police College and Police Training Institute, and is attended by 250 male and female safety guides from Qatar Red Crescent Society. The training course, according to a press statement by the Ministry of Interior, aims to raise the capabilities of safety guides and provide them with guidelines by experts in the field of security and safety of fans. The course will also enable trainees to participate efficiently and competently in securing the FIFA Club World Cup hosted by Qatar next month.

The course includes theoretical and training sessions under the supervision of trainers from the various units of the SSOC. The theoretical sessions include lectures on security sense, the duties and responsibilities of security and safety personnel and crowd management.
The practical part includes actual training on a World Cup facility that puts the trainees in the practical environment.
At the end of the course, trainees will obtain international certificates in the security and safety of fans.
