Vodafone Qatar has been announced as the official telecom partner of the first edition of the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival, being organised by Katara – the Cultural Village Foundation from February 2 to 6 under the patronage of His Highness the Amir.
The sponsorship comes in continuation of the role Vodafone Qatar has been playing in supporting Qatar’s outstanding role in hosting local and international events across sports, entertainment and culture, the company has said in a statement. 
“The company’s state-of-the-art network is increasingly playing a vital part in delivering an excellent experience for event participants and the seamless connectivity needed by event organisers,” the statement noted.
Commenting on the festival partnership, Abdulla Ali al-Misnad, head of Business Development at Vodafone Qatar, said: “Vodafone is delighted to be supporting the first edition of Katara International Arabian Horse Festival. The Arabian purebred have a significant place in our culture in Qatar and in our Arab and Islamic history, and for this we are committed to joining in the country’s efforts to build global awareness about these majestic horses and the equestrian expertise we have in Qatar.”
The five-day festival features various educational and entertainment activities for equine enthusiasts and the public such as exhibitions, live art and parades, in addition to food and beverage stalls.
The highlight of the festival is the ‘Title Show’ featuring more than 200 purebred Arabian horses belonging to owners in the region and Europe with prize money that is among the highest for such an event at a total of QR13mn.
