Doha Municipality’s Health Control Section has carried out a broad inspection campaign on the food outlets and organisations within its jurisdiction. A total of 24 violation reports were issued according to Law No 8 for 1990 on the regulation of human food control. The section, headed by Naglaa Abdulrahman al-Hail, has adopted a work plan that entails intensive inspection campaigns on food outlets. Health inspectors were distributed in 10 groups covering the various areas of Doha. During the first day of the campaign, 297 inspection tours were conducted covering restaurants, and other outlets.
The campaign is continuing until all the targets are achieved. Most of the spotted violations were regarding storage of expired food products and preparing food in unhygienic conditions. In addition, the inspectors stressed the need to follow the necessary food health and safety conditions and procedures to avoid such violations and legal consequences, especially when repeating such violations.
