A joint campaign to remove abandoned vehicles within the jurisdiction of Al Daayen Municipality was launched Sunday. The initiative is being carried out by the committee to remove abandoned vehicles, the Mechanical Equipment Department, and the General Cleanliness Department in co-operation with Al Daayen Municipality.

The campaign is part of the efforts to enforce the stipulations of Law no 18 for 2017 on Public Hygiene and to avoid the adverse environmental consequences. Saad Ibrahim al-Kuwari from the Municipal Control Department at Al Daayen Municipality, and a number of personnel from the Internal Security Forces (Lekhwiya) and the traffic patrols, in addition to some of the municipality employees and representatives of the participating entities were present.
Al-Kuwari said the campaign will continue until all the spotted abandoned vehicles are removed. He expected that around 65 abandoned vehicles and equipment would be removed during the campaign. Meanwhile, an awareness campaign has been conducted to instruct the public on the importance of removing their abandoned vehicles to avoid the legal consequences and to help in maintaining a healthy environment.
