The Orphan Care Centre (Dreama) has launched an awareness campaign under the theme, ‘Right and Duty’, with the support of QTerminals, to shed light on some of the challenges facing orphan children and educating the society on their rights and the duty towards them.
Dreama seeks, through this one-month campaign, to reach all segments of society in order to educate them on the importance of the issues faced by orphaned children in society. These include fostering as the natural environment for an orphaned child due to its importance in the child’s upbringing.
In this context, Noor al-Mohannadi, director of the Society Awareness Office at Dreama, explained that the centre seeks to educate the society on the most prominent issues and challenges facing orphan children and their integration into society. The centre plays a major role in providing family fostering and continuous follow-up for orphaned children.
The launch of the ‘Right and Duty’ campaign comes from a deep belief in the importance of integrating the children of Dreama in society as a social principle with a focus on the positive role played by fostering families in the upbringing, stability and well-being of the fostered child, the centre said in a statement.
Al-Mohannadi noted, “Through this campaign, and other similar activities, we seek promoting social integration and empowerment of Dreama’s children, raising awareness of social responsibility towards this important category of the society and working to enhance the society’s view of the orphaned child, besides enhancing the centre’s efforts to ensure the stability of this group and enhance their self-confidence.”
She added that Dreama appreciates the role of companies and individuals in supporting the most needy social groups, thus fulfilling its moral obligation to implement social responsibility.
Al-Mohannadi emphasised that the campaign contributes to “supporting charity to the orphan, encouraging and supporting him, and consolidating the principles of rights and equality within society”. She added, “We are working continuously through public awareness campaigns to spread our awareness messages, whether through direct campaigns with the public or through social media platforms, which we currently focus heavily on, taking into consideration the Covid-19 situation. We also extend our sincere thanks to QTerminals for their support for the ‘Right and Duty’ campaign.”
Abdul-Hadi Fahad al-Hajri, head of the Support Services Sector at QTerminals, said: “We are happy to support Dreama and support the ‘Right and Duty’ campaign. We believe in Dreama centre’s mission and vision to serve orphaned children and integrate them into society.
“Within the framework of the company’s society partnership, QTerminals will work with Dreama staff for a whole month to achieve the goals of the campaign out of our belief in the importance of supporting humanitarian work in general, and the children of Dreama in particular. This expresses social solidarity in order to implement the principles of compassion and co-operation for the interest of the beneficiary groups.”
The campaign will shed light on some of the challenges facing orphan children and educating the society on their rights and the duty towards them.
