The Central Municipal Council’s Legal Committee, during its meeting in the sixth session, headed by chairperson Sheikha Yusuf al-Jufairi, discussed a proposal regarding tightening control over pressed tobacco, Suweika and plant leaves containing similar substances.
Ministry of Interior (MoI) officials Lt Col Mohamed Hassan al-Gharib, Capt Mohamed Ali al-Kuwari, and Capt Mohamed Anzan al-Nuaimi attended the meeting, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
The meeting was also attended by Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) officials Dr Salah Abdullah al-Yafei, Dr Kholoud al-Mutawa, and Dr Ali Jaber Dharman and officials from the General Authority of Customs (GAC). After examination and study, the committee adjourned the meeting to invite some competent authorities to provide statistics and data on the subject.
