Elections to the apex bodies under the Indian embassy have been deferred by two weeks. The elections were originally scheduled to be held online Saturday. The revised schedule will be announced later. This was informed to the members of the apex bodies namely, Indian Cultural Centre, Indian Community Benevolent Forum as well as Indian Sports Council in an e-mail sent on December 22.
“Approval of the Digipoll app by iOS (Apple) is getting delayed due to iOS appstore's Global Annual maintenance shutdown from December 23 to 27. In consultation with the respective Election Committee, it has therefore been decided to defer the Apex body elections scheduled to be held on 26th Dec 2020, by two weeks,” said the chairperson of the Election Committee in the email.
“This will allow us to incorporate the constructive suggestions received from the community and the candidates in respect of (i) AO representative election process and (ii) demo election using Digipoll app, as requested by the candidates," says the e-mail.
