The Education City Golf Club hosted its first Qatar Foundation Golf Championship, bringing together more than 100 individuals from 15 different Qatar Foundation entities to take part in a fun and engaging tournament.
The tournament, which took place on December 11, was supported by Alfardan Premier Motors, the official retailer of Jaguar Land Rover in Qatar. Samer Bou Dargham, General Manager for Alfardan Premier Motors, said: “We have always prided ourselves on our association with prestigious sporting sponsorships, and we are proud to support the Qatar Foundation Golf Championship at the Education City Golf Club as it becomes a hub for sporting excellence within Qatar.”
The tournament saw 22 teams compete in a four-person scramble format. Across the day, a number of different challenges took place, including a putting competition, nearest the pin and longest Drive.
Rhys Beecher, Director of Golf, Education City Golf Club, said: “Our goal is encourage active participation in sport, and many teams competed with novice golfers with limited golf experience. We aim to build upon these events in the future and encourage community engagement further.”
Participating Qatar Foundation included many entities like TAMU, Supply Chain Management, Siemens, Sidra, Insurance, HQ, QAW, QAD, PUE, NWU, Msheireb, HBKU, GUQ and Al Shaqab.
