HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani met on Wednesday with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov during his visit to Moscow.
In the beginning of the meeting, HE Sheikh Mohamed conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to Russian President Vladimir Putin, wishing him health and happiness and the government and people of the Russia sustained progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral cooperation relations and means of boosting and reinforcing them further in different fields. They also reviewed the developments in the region, especially the Gulf crisis and the situation in Syria, Palestine, Libya and Iran in addition to issues of common interest.
HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's steadfast support of international efforts aimed at reaching a political solution to the Syrian crisis on the basis of the first Geneva Declaration of 2012 and the relevant Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution No. 2254, in a manner that meets the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people for security, stability and preserving its territorial integrity.
