Qatargas Operating Company Limited has recently held first virtual edition of its annual ‘CEO Forum for National Graduates and Trainees’ to provide participants an opportunity to meet with Qatargas’ CEO and the management leadership team.
Addressing the participants, Qatargas CEO Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa al-Thani said, “Qatarisation is an important strategic objective for Qatargas and it stems from our commitment to fulfilling the Qatar National Vision 2030 and in full alignment with the Qatargas’ Direction Statement to develop, support and retain a high calibre workforce. We focus on the quality of our people and, most importantly, look at the ways whereby we can support their development through world-class capacity building programmes.”
He added: “Despite all its negative implications, the global pandemic has in fact made us stronger and more competitive than ever before. It helped us evaluate, reflect upon, and implement our strategic priorities.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you for keeping your ambitions high and being keen on your career progression and development even during these challenging times.”
The theme for this year’s CEO Forum, facilitated by the Learning & Development (L&D) Department, was ‘Investing in Premier Nationals’. During the event, 11 national graduates, 12 coaches, two trainees, and six scholars were presented with special awards for excelling in their respective areas.
National graduates and trainees were given a chance to participate in discussions on their individual development plans and seek any clarification from the management on their career path and the support required for reaching their established positions.
Feedback and suggestions received from the participants were captured by L&D to ensure that the national development process within Qatargas is on track.
