The fifth edition of the annual Mahaseel Festival, organized by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, will be launched on Wednesday and will run until January 2.

National companies specializing in food production, livestock and poultry, in addition to Qatari farms and greenhouses, will participate in the fifth edition of the Mahaseel Festival.

The festival will include 45 stalls representing about 28 Qatari farms and 9 national companies specialized in the production of meat, eggs, poultry, milk and its derivatives, in addition to the participation of the flower, roses and ornamental plants sector, which is represented by 8 nurseries.

This year's festival is expected to witness a great turnout by the public, as the festival represents a valuable opportunity for all owners of Qatari farms and investors in the agricultural sector to display and market their distinctive and diverse local products of vegetables, dates, agricultural crops, food products, and livestock.

General Manager of Katara Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said on this occasion that Mahaseel Festival has become an important economic tributary that contributes to supporting the national economy, encourages investment in the agricultural and livestock sector, and stimulates the opening of important productive projects that serve the food security system.

Mahaseel Festival will open on Wednesday from 9am to 9pm and will run until Jan. 2, after which the Mahaseel souq will continue to be open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until March 31.
