His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani received a cable of congratulation from US President Donald Trump on Qatar's National Day, in which he expressed his sincere congratulations on behalf of the government and the American people, praising the close relations between the two countries and their commitment to deepen and strengthen them.
Trump said in his message that Qatar continues to prosper and develop under the leadership of His Highness the Amir, and the US appreciates the co-operation of Qatar on several major bilateral, regional and economic issues with regard to continuing peace and stability in the region.
The US president thanked the Amir for the great support for the American forces at Al Udeid Air Base, and for hosting the Afghan peace negotiations, as well as increasing cultural exchange between the two countries, including the American participation in Qatar-US Year of Culture 2021.
He also expressed pride in the partnership with Qatar, saying that he is proud of the long-established and indispensable ties, and looks forward to developing co-operation in the future.
