This was announced by Abdulaziz al-Dehaimi, director of the Fisheries Department. He emphasised that one of the ministry's priorities is to achieve food security by providing quantities of small fish to the private sector wishing to establish fish farms.
The implementation of the Aquatic & Fisheries Research Centre at Ras Matbakh comes within the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030 with the aim of securing the local demand for food and promoting work towards self-sufficiency, the official added.
