Ambassador of Jordan to Qatar Zaid Mufleh al-Lawzi affirmed that the Jordanian-Qatari relations have always been distinguished and enjoyed the special attention of HM King Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein of Jordan and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the ambassador said that the relations between the two countries witnessed recently a remarkable development in health, education, military, commerce and other fields of cooperation, pointing out that, for example, there are thousands of Jordanian teachers working in Qatar and thousands of Qatari students who graduated from Jordanian universities while nearly 3,000 are now enrolled.
He highlighted the eagerness of the Qatari and Jordanian sides for more cooperation in various fields in light of the special attention received by the bilateral relations from the leaderships of the two countries. The ambassador congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and the proud Qatari people on this occasion, praying for more progress and prosperity for the State under its wise leadership.
He said that the steps taken by Qatar in the path of comprehensive development and urban renaissance reflect strategic planning for the advancement of all sectors, including infrastructure, roads, education, health, culture and sports. He stressed that Qatar, with its wise leadership, is distinguished among countries by its wide diplomatic relations, adding that there is remarkable Qatari diplomatic activity in recent years, which can be seen in what it is doing in many international issues where it resolves disputes between countries by peaceful means, in addition to its role in ending internal problems in certain countries, the latest of which was peace in Afghanistan. He affirmed that Qatar has succeeded in playing the role of an important and effective mediator in this issue.
On Qatar's efforts to contain the coronavirus pandemic, the Jordanian ambassador pointed out that Qatar's measures to confront this pandemic at the internal level are very distinctive, as the numbers of infections and deaths have decreased significantly over the past months, which indicates the effectiveness of the health measures that the Qatari government has systematically implemented. He said that even the non-medical measures related to the closure and gradual reopening of some sectors successful, praying for the protection of citizens and residents in Qatar.
In a related context, he praised the medical aid provided by Qatar to nearly 70 countries and international organizations during the pandemic, adding that they are commendable efforts and indicate the comfortable situation at the domestic level in relations to the virus; it also indicates Qatar's distinguished relations with other countries.
