His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HE President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas held a meeting during which they discussed the most prominent developments in Palestine. The President briefed His Highness on the latest developments related to the Palestinian cause and the peace process in the Middle East, expressing thanks and appreciation to HH the Amir for Qatar's constant support to the brotherly Palestinian people.
For his part, HH the Amir affirmed Qatar's firm position regarding the Palestinian cause and its support for the brotherly Palestinian people in establishing their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the decisions of international legitimacy, the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative.
During the meeting, held at the Amiri Diwan on Monday, they discussed ways to consolidate bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
