Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development, a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, in collaboration with “Akhlaquna”, has conducted a month-long series of workshops on social entrepreneurship.
The aim of the workshop was to empower young people and provide them with the appropriate tools to carry out projects that address ethical and moral problems in societies.
During the event, there was a series of workshops to identify social issues that the societies face and to plan solutions using smart and rapid intervention methods.
Participants between the ages of 15 and 20 formed working groups through which they addressed issues such as mental health and the environment, in addition to the matter of frontline workers combating the corona pandemic (Covid-19), as well as other topics.
Moreover, they also defined their tasks and began to communicate with governmental and non-governmental agencies to obtain support for their projects, which they will present for the award in March 2021.
“Through our co-operation with the award’s team, we have expanded its scope of work to include planting seeds of positive change in our community. The workshops will act as a catalyst to help entrepreneurs leave a positive imprint and touch in their country and convey their voice to society and the world through their ability to achieve something positive,” said Abdulla Faleh al-Saeed, board member and acting general manager of Bedaya Center.
In achieving this, he said, these entrepreneurs will be role models and sources of inspiration for others by working on adopting good morals in their projects, which also helps spread the award message among members of society and subsequently instilling positive and noble values among all.
