The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has reiterated that it is mandatory for staff at barbershops and hairdressers to wear masks and face shields.
This came in a Covid-19 advisory posted yesterday by the ministry on social media yesterday, highlighting the precautionary measures that need to be followed when visiting a barbershop or hairdresser.
The MoPH advises people to make a reservation in advance, wear a mask and maintain a safe distance of 1.5m from others at all times.
Barbershops and hairdressers operate at a maximum of 50% of their capacity, and it is mandatory for the staff to wear masks and face shields.
Workstations must be routinely and frequently cleaned, including between each customer appointment, the advisory states. “Wearing a mask, having a green Ehteraz status and a body temperature below 38C are mandatory to allow entry,” it adds.
A related advisory by the MoPH highlights the precautionary measures that are to be followed on boats.
“Refrain from rafting up with other boats or beaching up the boat next to others,” it says, reminding people to wear a mask and maintain a minimum safe distance of 1.5m from others at all times. Gatherings on boats are limited to 15 people in indoor areas and 30 people in outdoor areas, the advisory points out.
“The maximum capacity allowed is 50% for small personal boats and 30% for large excursion boats, it continues. “Wearing a mask, having a green Ehteraz status and a body temperature below 38C are mandatory to allow boarding.” The MoPH has issued a series of such advisories on social media over the past few days, reiterating the precautionary measures that need to be followed by the public to curb the spread of Covid-19. The earlier advisories pertained to social gatherings, public transport and shopping malls.
