QVCs will resume operations in Kathmandu (Nepal) from Thursday, in Islamabad (Pakistan) from December 14 and in Manila (the Philippines) from December 15, according to the MoI.

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has announced that Qatar Visa Centres (QVCs) abroad will gradually resume work in Nepal, Pakistan and the Philippines in the coming days.

QVCs will resume operations in Kathmandu (Nepal) from Thursday, in Islamabad (Pakistan) from December 14 and in Manila (the Philippines) from December 15, according to the MoI.

In addition, the QVC in Chennai (India) is set to reopen on December 16, according to information available on the Qatar Visa Centre website. Chennai will be the fourth Indian city where a QVC will resume work, with similar centres having already reopened in Delhi, Kochi and Lucknow on December 3.

The process of booking appointments electronically, through the QVC website, began for the Kathmandu centre on December 3, for Islamabad on December 7 and for Manila on Tuesday, an infographic released by the MoI explained.

In a statement, the MoI said the provision of services through the QVCs will be gradually resumed in implementation of the project to capture fingerprints and collect vital data, conduct medical examinations and sign work contracts outside the country, according to a Qatar News Agency (QNA) report.

QVCs have been opened in different countries as part of the Qatari authorities’ efforts to facilitate and streamline procedures for bringing expatriates to Qatar. The centres "aim to facilitate and simplify recruitment procedures in general, protect the rights of expatriates, ensure their safety and facilitate all procedures for their entry into the country, as well as inspect and document the process of their employment and accelerate their initiation of work in simplified, smooth and effective procedures", QNA adds.

Appointments to visit any QVC can be made through the designated website (https://www.qatarvisacenter.com/).

The QVCs have been set up and operated in co-operation with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Public Health.
