The deadline for participating in the ICC Photographer of the Year 2020 contest has been extended until December 7 and the results will be released on Qatar National Day, the organisers have announced.
Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) president Manikantan A P, along with members of the recently formed ICC Photography Club, held a meeting on conducting the contest.
The objective of the event is to “raise the popularity of the artistry of photography among Indian expatriates in Qatar”, ICC has said in a press statement.
The winners will be commemorated and the winning photographs will be exhibited at Ashoka Hall, ICC. Photographs have to be sent to this e-mail ID: [email protected]
The meeting discussed the various themes of the event. These are ‘Exploring Qatar’, which asks photographers to highlight the country’s various architectural marvels; ‘Qatar expressions’, requesting the photographer to showcase celebrations, lifestyle or sports within Qatar; ‘Qatar events’, focusing on the upcoming 2022 World Cup and related events; ‘Back to nature’, highlighting the natural beauty of Qatar; ‘Indo-Qatar links’, conveying the growing bond and acceptance between the two communities through a series of images (pictures should be taken in Qatar); and ‘Iconic structure’, a series of five images that portray the story of a significant architecture located in Doha, the statement explained.
The president and the members requested the community members to actively partake in the contest. For further information, visit https://www.iccqatar.com/newsdetails/45
