Barwa Real Estate Group has announced the appointment of Engineer Saleh Abdullah al-Sharafi as acting CEO of Waseef Asset Management Company, which is wholly owned by Barwa Real Estate Group, effective December 1, 2020.
Al-Sharafi is one of the distinguished Qatari cadres in the group, and is currently a member of the board of directors of Qatar Project Management (QPM), a subsidiary of the group.
He is also the director of Portfolio Management at Waseef Company, and has more than 28 years of leadership and management experience in many institutions in the sectors of real estate, facilities management, maintenance services, and environmental safety, in addition to his experience in establishing and leading private businesses in the local market.
Al-Sharafi has been ranked in many positions for leading national institutions. He previously worked as a business support manager, acting director of operations, and director of real estate affairs at Waseef Company.
He also worked as a consultant to the CEO of Barwa Real Estate Group, as a manager of the Barwa Al Baraha Project, and as acting CEO of Barwa Facilities Management Company.
In addition to his experience spanning 17 years at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, in which he held many administrative positions in the fields of quality, safety, and environmental engineering management.
Al-Sharafi holds a master's degree in environmental engineering from Florida, US, holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Qatar University, and is a fellow member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Water Science and Technology Association.
The board of directors of Barwa Real Estate Group welcomed al-Sharafi in his new position, and expressed the great confidence that the group attaches to him, and its aspiration for his role in implementing the group's vision, which aims to continue the company's march in achieving sustainability for shareholder returns.
