The World Federation of Engineering Organisation (WFEO-CIC) recently conducted a technical webinar on “Satellite Applications in the Post-pandemic World” in association with The Institution of Engineers (India) Qatar Chapter and OUC JM Liverpool University.
The event was in hybrid mode with 25 engineers attending in-person at the venue, Oryx Universal College in partnership with Liverpool John Moore University in Doha, Qatar and the remaining around 100 plus attendees virtually via an online portal.
Dr TM Gunaraja, FIE, chairman, WEFO-CIC, presided over the event and introduced WFEO-CIC activities. He explained about the CIC initiatives to make communication technology conducive for sustainable development goals.
Ahmed al-Jolo, president, Arab Engineers Federation and former chairman, Qatari Society of Engineers as well as Narendra Singh, president IEI (India) were the chief guests.
Al-Jolo wished all the success and support for WFEO-CIC activities in Gulf Region especially in Qatar.
Azmy Ameer, president/executive director OUC in partnership with Liverpool John Moores university spoke about the future of communication technology and how satellites are going to change the world
Dr Mylsamy Annadurai, vice president, Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology; chairman, National Design and Research Forum and programme director, Chandrayan & Mangalyan Satellite Projects, India was the key note speaker.
He spoke about satellite applications in the post-pandemic world.
Abdul Sathar, honorary chairman, IEI Qatar Chapter welcomed the gathering and introduced the guest speakers to the gathering.
The Institution of the Engineers (India)-Qatar chapter was established in 1991 for the benefit of its members residing and practising engineering profession in Qatar.
One of the major activities is regular technical seminars and workshops conducted for the benefit of member engineers in Qatar.
